below are the lyric videos to my double-single love or logic. the concept behind the pack was to confront and reconcile the dichotomy of emotion and rationale. thus, the two videos contrast each other yet have a cohesive, aesthetic through-line. this project was my first time editing by myself and although the quality is super low on youtube for some reason, I still love it! it’s giving vintage vhs or whatever…. enjoy!

STRAIGHT COUNCILMEMBA(2021)
STRAIGHT/COUNCILMEMBA is a medley of a couple of songs from my nascent mixtape UNIVERSAL STRUGGLES. My first foray into live sets post-COVID, the performance is recorded in a basement studio and embodies the two emotions that the songs evoke, DISGUST/SADNESS respectively. While my dogged delivery of STRAIGHT reveals my disdain for those who aren’t earnest in their communication, my desperate entreaties in COUNCILMEMBA highlight the vulnerability of my status in society.

this body (2020)
i wrote this poem at a time when i was feeling particularly disillusioned and disconnected not only from my own body but also with the conversations we as a society have around body positivity. personally, i believe that body positivity should mean cultivating a healthy relationship with one’s own vessel. that’s it. to me, it’s not about size or color or curvature but rather how i take ownership of my physical body so that it and my soul might live in harmony.
